22nd Annual Sea Trek Regatta & ETC Adventurers'

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2004
(Date is still pending and is subject to change.)

The West Coast's largest, most popular, and definitely most fun sea kayak race. Widely considered the "Bay-to-Breakers" of sea kayaking, the annual Sea Trek Regatta is a chance to come together on the beach to celebrate our paddling community, to share in a beautiful day on the water and, as always, to raise funds in support of Environmental Traveling Companions'' (ETC) accessible outdoor adventure programs. With a variety of race classes and courses, the regatta is perfect for paddlers looking to race competitively as well as those who are new to the sport of paddling. Additionally, the regatta is accessible to people of all abilities and backgrounds! Paddlers with disabilities are encouraged to register for the race and will be provided with a free boat and a trained paddling partner. Following the race, participants and spectators are invited to enjoy a delicious lunch on the beach, then join in the fun of the live Adventurers' Auction and raffle.

All proceeds of the event go to support Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC), a local nonprofit organization who has been providing accessible outdoor adventures for people with disabilities and disadvantaged youth for over 30 years.

All New
Regatta-Paddle-A-Thon
Benefits
Environmental Traveling Companions

Regatta fees waived for all participants who raise
$150 for ETC in the new Sea Trek Regatta Paddle-a-Thon.

New for 2003, we have added a Paddle-A-Thon option to the Regatta.  Paddlers can still register for the Regatta Only and have a great time paddling with friends.   OR, you can register as a Regatta Paddle-a-Thon kayaker and join ETC in fundraising (and "friendraising") by soliciting individual race sponsorships.  Paddle-A-Thon kayakers raise money to help ETC share it's mission with a larger audience while at the same time raise funds that go directly towards providing people of all abilities the opportunity to access wilderness adventures.

How does the Paddle-a-thon work?

The Paddle-a-thon is a way for paddlers to help ETC fundraise for accessible outdoor adventures and at the same time share the ETC mission with a greater audience. The benefit for YOU? Your $60 Regatta race dues will be waived when you register as a Paddle-A-Thon kayaker and raise a minimum of $150. So contact with your co-workers, your neighbors, your friends and your family - tell them about the Regatta and the incredible opportunities ETC makes available to people with disabilities and inner-city youth in our communities.

100% of the money raised goes directly towards creating accessible adventures.   Once you register for the Paddle-A-Thon, we will send you an email explaining how you can use our online pledging system to raise donations online.

Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC) opens the beauty and challenge of outdoor adventures to people with special needs. Every year over 2,000 people of all abilities join us to raft whitewater rivers, ski across alpine meadows, sea kayak the waters of the Golden Gate and sleep beneath the open sky. ETC trips enable participants to access the wilderness, gain environmental awareness, and share the adventure. We invite you to join us on a trip. Groups and individuals of all abilities are welcome to participate in our sea kayaking, rafting and cross-country skiing programs.
